ROING, Aug 6: The District Administration and the Anti Drug Squad, Roing has started taking the drug peddlers and abusers to task in the district . On sunday last the team raided the rented house of one Anita Das at Mayu -II and confiscated one plastic packet containing 21 numbers of  paper wrapped Heroine weighing 7.20 gms. Apart from the NDPS substance, cash amount of Rs. 32,800 was seized from her possession.

The seizure was made in presence Town Magistrate, Dy.Sp(Hqtr) Opir Paron and team of police. Sources revealed that the woman has been running the racket on large scale for the last few months after her co-peddlers got arrested.

A criminal case vide Roing PS Case no. 34/2018 U/S 22(b) NDPS Act has been registered and under investigation. Meanwhile, SP Sanjay Kr. Sain has lauded the police team and the Women Wing of Mayu -II for rendering their selfless efforts in checking and curtailing the drug menace. He reiterated that no drug peddler or abuser would be spared in the district and also asked the public to share any NDPS related information to the Police.
