PASIGHAT, Aug 26: A free Hearing Assessment & Hearing Aid Distribution Camp was held at Bakin Pertin General Hospital, Pasighat. The camp was conducted by Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Cooperation of India (ALIMCO) in association with Pradhan Mantri Divyasa Kendra (PMDK) Nagarlagun and Vivekananda Kendra Arunjyoti Pasighat.
Many senior citizens and hearing impaired people attended the event. After carrying out hearing assessment and eligibility, about 57 beneficiaries (including 48 Senior Citizens & 9 Diyanjans) were given Hearing Aids free of charge (total value of Hearing Aids was more than Rs 6 Lakhs).
Gracing the occasion, East Siang District Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu and BPGH Joint Director (T&R) Dr Talung Tali gave away the hearing aids to the needy beneficiaries. The DC appreciated Vivekananda Kendra Arunjyoti and ALIMCO for the humane service and urged all beneficiaries to use the hearing aids as instructed and demonstrated.
Gp Capt Mohonto Panging Pao informed the gathering that more such events including distributed of aids and appliances for Divyanjans would be held.
Vivekananda Kendra Sanchalak Gp Capt Mohonto Panging Pao VM (Rtd), Dr Debashish Dey Adhikari, Vikrant Kumar, Marketing Officer ALIMCO SK Hajoary, officials of ALIMCO and karyakartas of Vivekananda Kendra Arunjyoti ensured the smooth conduct of the camp.
