ITANAGAR, May 19:Galo Welfare Society (GWS) has strongly condemned and denounced the resolutions taken by Adi Bane Kebang (ABK) in the recently held Referendum Rally being organized at Kora Village on April 30 last which is already notified under Lower Siang District.

In meeting held today by the GWS, the house has expressed strong displeasure over the stand of the ABK and AdiSu on the Dharmendra Sharma led High Power Committee Report/Recommendation and said that the document is not amenable to public domain for its dubious and one-sided contents.

Criticizing the government for showing inefficiency in solving the long pending issue, the GWS slammed the government for adopting delaying tactics against the functioning of Lower Siang District by constituting committee after committee.

“There has been no fruitful outcome of all those committees constituted till date and  we strongly appeal the state government to uphold and implement the Arunachal Pradesh (Reorganization of District) (Amendment) Bill 2013 that received assent of Governor of Arunachal Pradesh on 26th February 2014 and notified as Act No. 2 of 3rd March 2014,” added GWS.

The GWS also resolved to boycott the District Level Consultative Committee Meeting constituted by Deputy Commissioner East Siang, Tamiyo Tatak on May 27 next over the issue.

Demanding immediate transfer of DC Tatak along with immediate withdrawal of the unilateral minutes of meeting drafted by him in presence of SP, East Siang District in connection of withdrawal of FIR filed against Kangir Jamoh by Yigo Tacha on May 11 last, the GWS said that it will not endorse further transfer of any part of West Siang District for creation of the new district until and unless notified Lower Siang District and proposed Leparada district are made functional.

Further, GWS also appealed all Galo MLAs and Ministers to facilitate the implementation of resolutions adopted by GWS in letter and spirit to the government and demanded immediate posting of SP and DC at Likabali within one month’s time.

It further went on to say that the elected representatives must resign from their present post (portfolio) as a mark of protest if the demands are not fulfilled adding that ‘if they fail to do so, Galo Welfare Society will sanction social boycott against them.’
