ITANAGAR, Jun 9:Taking note on the frequent voice raised by the students forthe delay to disburse the Pre and Post matric scholarship to the APSTstudents, the  All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) called on the Director of Social Justice & Empowerment and Tribal Affairs Department to get updates of the progress.

Informing that the matter has been pursued since many months, Director Yumlam Kaha, assured that the money would be released within two weeks and by first week of July it would be disbursed to the students.

The Director revealed that there are a total number of 22564 applicants in post matric and 2594 students in the pre matric scholarship and the department has existing amount of eight crore and fifty one lakh and the remaining amount of about 41,43,03,264 (forty one crore forty three thousand two hundred and sixty four only) has been assured to be released within two weeks.


Given the development, AAPSU President Hawa Bagang, said that while the union understands the sentiments of the students it appealed for restraint as the Department has assured to release the scholarship by July.
