ITANAGAR, Jan 2: Chief Minister Pema Khandu today called on Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) here at the Raj Bhavan wherein the duo besides exchanging New Year greetings discussed matters concerning developmental projects, State and Central flagship programmes etc.
While expressing his concern about unsatisfactory progress of construction of the Miao-Vijoynagar road, the Governor stressed on expediting the projects which are being slowed down due to COVID pandemic. Appreciating the Chief Minister for his public commitment for implementation of the NH-415 road project in the state capital, the Governor called for stringent measures in maintaining cleanliness in the ICR. Chosen as one of the Smart cities of the country, Itanagar should be the best example in cleanliness, health and hygiene, facility centres, internet and road communication, he asserted.
Emphasising on rolling out new initiatives for employment generation through entrepreneurship in agri-horti and allied sectors particularly apiculture and harnessing of sporting potential of the state, the Governor also called for strengthening of the law and order situation. While suggesting the Chief Minister for drawing of a concrete plan for smooth conduct of the COVID vaccination programme, he underscored the need for continuous observation of all SOPs for protection of citizens.
The Chief Minister briefed the Governor about various issues and programmes of the state government. Topics concerning road communication, competitive examinations, filling up of vacant posts, environment and forests, health, education and PR elections were discussed in the meeting. PRO Raj Bhavan
