Itanagar, Jan 27: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.), and the First Lady of the State, Anagha Parnaik hosted the traditional ‘At Home’ on the lawns of Lok Bhavan, Itanagar, to commemorate the 77th Republic Day of India. The reception was attended the Chief Minister Pema Khandu, along with members of his Council of Ministers, members of the State Legislative Assembly, senior officers, bureaucrats, ex-servicemen, sports personalities, achievers from various fields, students, differently-abled children, and other distinguished invitees, reflecting the diverse and inclusive spirit of the State.
The Governor and the First Lady interacted warmly with the guests, exchanging greetings and extending their best wishes on the momentous occasion over a delightful High Tea, creating an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie.
The ‘At Home’ reception stood as a heartfelt celebration of unity, patriotism, and inclusivity, adding a memorable chapter to the Republic Day festivities.
Raj Bhavan was beautifully adorned with vibrant festive décor, featuring blooming flowers arranged across expansive flower beds and pots. The prominent display of the national tricolour enhanced the patriotic fervour, creating a warm, welcoming, and celebratory ambience for the distinguished gathering.
On the occasion, the Governor released a book titled “Recent Zoological Discoveries from Arunachal Pradesh”, compiled by Dr. Shantabala Devi Gurumatum, L. Seitinmang Khonsai, and Yomto Mayi of the Zoological Survey of India, highlighting the State’s rich and unique biodiversity. The discoveries are the result of commendable effort and will serve as a valuable reference for researchers, students, the Department of Forest, and conservation practitioners.
The Governor and the Chief Minister also presented certificates to the winners of the Drawing and Essay Writing Competitions organized by the Governor’s Secretariat as part of the Republic Day celebrations. Master John Ribu (Class VI), Government Primary School, ESS-Sector, Itanagar; Master Longbo Pansa (Class VII), Government Primary School, D-Sector, Itanagar; and Master Tagru Rajen (Class VIII), Government Primary School, ESS-Sector, Itanagar, were awarded prizes in the Drawing Competition. In the Essay Writing Competition, prizes were conferred to Miss Khunam Lorah (Class XI, Science), Delhi Public School, Itanagar; Master Rakom Tatak, Kingcup Public School, Itanagar; and Miss Divyana Saxena (Class IX).
