ITANAGAR, Mar 14: Governor PB Acharya and State’s First Lady Kavita Acharya celebrated the festive occasion of Holi with differently abled children and Jail inmates at Itanagar on Monday.

They visited the Donyi-Polo Mission School for the hearing and visually impaired, Chimpu and District Jail, Jullang and shared the festive occasion with the children and inmates. They distributed sweets, specially prepared by the Raj Bhavan for them.

The Governor exhorted the students of DPMSHVI, Chimpu to instill confidence and self-belief. You are second to none. Prepare yourself for the future and contribute towards the peace and progress of the State and country, the Governor said. 

Joining the inmates in praying for harmony and development of the State, the Governor advised them to have positive approach in life and move forward.

Earlier in the morning, the Governor and the First Lady offered prayers in the temples of the Capital City.

Later in the day, they also observed the festival of colours with staffers and officials attached to Raj Bhavan.

Local MLA and Parliamentary Secretary UD & Housing, Town Planning, Municipal Affairs and PWD Techi Kaso and local Town Councillor of Raj Bhavan ward Ward No-18 Gora Lotak, also joined the celebrations.
