ITANAGAR, Mar 6: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) has extended warm greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of Aran Festival. He expressed hope that the festivity will go a long way in conservation and protection of flora and fauna of the State.
The Governor said that there have been welcome patronising and protective changes amongst the people of Arunachal Pradesh towards nature, wildlife, plants and trees in the wild
One of the most well-known and highly acclaimed achievements in this regard is using of fibreglass hornbill beak in the Nyishi traditional headgears. The self adopted social restrictions by community elders and the village leaders against hunting and non-use of wild meat, polluting rivulets and damage to nature are some amongst the many appreciable initiatives of the people of our different tribes.
On these matters, the Governor complimented the Adi Community for the evinced cooperation and hoped that the festival of Aran will be celebrated with traditional gaiety and fervour and will reinforce and make the fragile ecosystem balance stronger.
