Itanagar, Apr 24: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), has conveyed warmest greetings to the people of the State, especially to the Tangsa brethren on the auspicious occasion of Moh-Mol. He wished that the festivity brings peace, harmony, and prosperity to every corner of the State.
In his message, the Governor said that Moh-Mol, deeply rooted in the rhythms of agriculture, marks the beginning of the sowing season, a time of hope, renewal, and gratitude. It is a celebration of crops and seasons and a profound expression of the Tangsa community’s vibrant culture, cherished values, and deep connection with nature. It is truly heartening to witness how our Tangsa brethren have faithfully preserved their ancestral customs, passing them down with pride and love from one generation to the next. The celebrations, like Moh-Mol, serve as living lessons, encouraging our younger generation to embrace and carry forward their rich cultural heritage with dignity and devotion, he said.
Parnaik also greeted the Puroik community, on the joyful occasion of Gumkum Gumpa. He wished that the festival of reunion and renewal strengthens the bonds of brotherhood and harmony, not just within the Puroik community, but among all the tribes of Arunachal Pradesh.
In his message, the Governor said that Gumkum Gumpa is not just a celebration of culture. It is a celebration of togetherness, identity, and resilience. The Puroik community, with its unique heritage and enduring spirit, holds a cherished place in the rich mosaic of our State. While historical and traditional circumstances may have delayed the reach of development in some areas, I firmly believe that with collective support and strong will, the path ahead will be brighter than ever. I encourage my Puroik brethren to continue embracing education, good health, and empowerment, and to actively engage with various welfare initiatives designed to uplift and support every member of the community. Let us walk together with mutual respect and shared dreams, building a future that honors our traditions while embracing progress, he said.
