ITANAGAR, Jun 3:

At the initiative of the Governor PB Acharya, the Indian National Fellowship Centre, Mumbai is sponsoring an Educational, Emotional cum National Integration Home Stay in Mumbai-Goa or Mumbai-Pune for twenty-two member Puroik Community group starting from June 4. Forest Range Officer, Bomdila, Kashok Sullung, is leading the team. Amongst the members, none had ever visited Mumbai and only three of them had ventured outside of the North East region. Fifteen of them are students of which seven are girls. The lodging and tour in Mumbai-Goa or Mumbai-Pune is being arranged by INFC, Mumbai.

A see off meeting for the Team was organised by the officers of Governor’s Secretariat at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on Saturday.

Advising the Team, Deputy Secretary M. Damin, and Under Secretary B. Megu, said that they will be representing the State in the Metropolitan city, so utmost care must be taken to showcase the best of Arunachal Pradesh.

Sharing the experiences in the metros, the officials cautioned them of their behaviours and respond to people from other States.

Inculcate good practices, learn about them and set off camaraderie and also educate them about the State, its people and traditions. Demonstrate the cultural richness and tribal hospitability, they emphasised.

The Governor, who is at New Delhi for some official commitments, has conveyed his best wishes to each and every member for a successful exposure tour. He wished that the effort will set a solid foundation for stronger association amongst the people of North Eastern region and rest of the country.  

Pooja Kamath, INFC member informed that from June 7-15 next, the team will visit Upanagar Shikshan Mandal (Vidyanidhi Infotech Academy), Excel Industries and Bakery, Juhu Chowpaty and beach, Veer Savarkar Memorial,  Mayor Bunglow, Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Mt. Mary Church, Aarey Milk Colony and ISKCON temple and taken for Bombay Darshan tour.

They will also visit Jawahar/Pada to see rural Maharashtra and a community reliant village, SNDT Campus, Ruparel College and spend time with locals and Arunachal Students Union Mumbai.

The members will attend workshop on personality development and soft skills at Vidyanidhi Infortech Academy.

A cultural programme will be organized on the penultimate day, where Maharashtrian cultural troupe will perform, Kamath added.

Dr. Hanmanthrao Palep, Indian National Fellowship Centre, Working President, Dilip Paranjape, Indian National Fellowship Centre, Trustee General Secretary, Suresh Sathe, Indian National Fellowship Centre, General Secretary, Working Committee, Savitha Thakur, Uday Karandikar, Arun Deo and Kamath are coordinating the programme.
