ITANAGAR, Mar 15: On the conclusion of debates and discussions and passing of the Budget 2017 – 18 in the State Legislative Assembly, BJP Arunachal Pradesh has congratulated Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein for presenting a pragmatic, pro-poor, developmental oriented comprehensive budget with many new innovative initiatives.

While appreciating the deliberations of the last day of the budget session, State BJP President, Tapir Gao,   lauded the ‘New Arunachal’ concept of ‘Team Arunachal’ under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu. Gao feels that the paradigm shift in the budget approach by ‘Team Arunachal’  will indeed bring in a new Arunachal by unlocking the latent potential of the State by implementing all the reformative and innovative initiatives enunciated in the budget.

The State BJP President further added that many of the reforms in policy and governance as proposed in the budget in the areas of land management, fiscal management, decentralization and devolution power, communication and transport etc will bring tangible improvement in the developmental pace and greatly enhance the productivity of the State.

While terming the focus on youth, tourism, agriculture and horticulture sector as marked departure from earlier budgets, Gao is of the opinion that this will generate employment for hundreds of youth both in service and agric/horti sector. This will also harness the entrepreneurship skills and spirit of the youth in a big way.  ‘This is indeed the need of the hour as hundreds of youth are languishing without gainful employment’, said Gao.

On the revenue source issue, Gao opined that the intention of the Chief Minister to focus and streamline the Revenue Departments is the right approach. He feels that this will enhance the internal resource generation of the State and enable flexibility in developmental planning.

Endorsing the application of digital technology in governance for checking corruption in the State, Gao opined that application of digital technology will systematically do away with many of the malpractices, leakages and embezzlement and procrastinations in implementation of developmental projects, which is so essential for a new Arunachal.

While agreeing to the clarion call of the Chief Minister for development of positive work culture amongst members of ‘Team Arunachal’, State BJP President also appealed to all Panchayat Leaders, Councilors, and Government Officers to respond to the call with equal enthusiasm by imbibing missionary zeal in carrying out the responsibilities and jobs assigned to them.
