AALO, Sep 6: The Minister for Tax& Excise, Tourism and Art and Culture, Jarkar Gamlin inaugurated a double storied RCC hostel building for girls executed by Aalo PWD division here today.
Addressing the gathering in a function at the hostel premise, Gamlin said that more than Rs. 3 crores under available pools have been kept for infrastructure development of the school even without demand from the school authority considering urgent needs of the school that shaped many luminaries from West Siang in the past.
Sharing the nostalgic moments of his days in his Alma mater, Gamlin exhorted the teachers to impart quality education and students to strive hard in their academic pursuits to cope up with present-day challenges. He disclosed that government has already decided to constitute Staff Selection Board to select all officials of the State through the Board and merit alone will be counted in all selections in future. Responding to water scarcity in the hostel, the Minister assured to look into it on priority basis adding that the matter should have been brought before him earlier to settle the problem.
Speaking on other developmental fronts in the town, he appealed the public not to put unnecessary hurdles on developmental issues that are taking place and leaders once mandated by the people should be allowed to take up tangible development for the larger interest of township dwellers.
The Principal In charge of Govt. HSS Aalo, PK Mishra also spelled out problems of the girl's hostel and expressed his gratitude to the Minister and executing agency for easing the accommodation problem of the girls.
The West Siang Deputy Commissioner, Sode Potom, EE PWD Aalo, DMO, DPO and host of other officers from various departments attended the function.
