Nafra, Jul 3: In a significant step towards promoting local agriculture and supporting security forces, Deputy Commissioner of Bichom, Bopai Puroik officially flagged off the first consignment of fresh vegetables destined for the 59th Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) stationed at Nafra.
This initiative falls under the umbrella of “Mission ArunHimveer” and marks the beginning of a collaborative effort facilitated through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the ITBP and the Arunachal Pradesh Agricultural Marketing Board (APAMB).
The partnership aims to ensure the regular supply of high-quality, locally sourced vegetables to ITBP personnel deployed in remote and challenging terrains. By connecting local farmers with frontline security forces, the mission not only strengthens nutritional support for the troops but also uplifts local agricultural communities by opening up a stable and dignified market for their produce.
