AALO, Apr 6:  Minister Power and Industries, Tamiyo Taga while calling for proper documentation and preservation for future generations has stressed on keeping a check on expenses while celebrating festivals.

‘Mode of celebration of festivals should not be very expensive and go unmanageable in the years to come,’ Taga said while attending the central Mopin festival organised by CMCC Aalo at Gumin Kiin today.

Extending Mopin greeting as Chief Guest on the auspicious occasion, he dwelt on many of the schedule tribes in the world who have lost their identities and recognitions due to loss of culture, language and dialects and said ‘we should feel proud that it is still vibrant among different clans in this state.’

The festival should act as platform to bring oneness, mutual trust, goodwill and understanding among various communities to keep up and protect our rich culture and heritage, he further opined.


The Guest of Honour  Gejum Ete, Retd. Director exhorted the young generation to take keen interest in their culture. The President CMCC, Doli Lollen, Secretary Er. Gemar Padu, Vice President Kirdo Ete also gave detail deliberation on history and mythological aspects of Mopin and called upon the participating members to rise above social taboos to take keen part in such celebration.
A souvenir tiled ‘Dego Yamo’ edited by Dr. Kenjom Padu was also released by the dignitaries to mark the occasion and CMCC also felicitated Minkir Lollen for his outstanding contribution towards promotion of social and cultural activities.

At YINGKIONG,

President, ABK Kangir Jamoh while attending as Chief Guest stressed on the need to teach the children about local dialects and celebrate festivals for maintenance of tradition and culture.  He was optimistic that the Bogum Boka Kebang will be revived which is a right platform for unity and integrity of Adi and Galo community. Reiterating ABK’s war against opium and drug menace, he appealed all support the cause.

A fashion show of tiny tots enthralled the gathering.

At ITANAGAR,

Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Takam Sanjoy on Wednesdayextended greeting on the auspicious Mopin festival to the people of the state, particularly Galo community.

"Let the festival be harbinger of bumper harvest, communal harmony in the multi-ethnic rich state", Sanjoy said in his message and prayed for peace and progress for all sections of society.
