ITANAGAR, Apr 29: Minister Home Bamang Felix and Minister Health Alo Libang along with a team of officers from the District Administrations of Itanagar Capital Complex and Papum Pare today visited DCHC Midpu, DCH Chimpu and the check gates at Gumto, Banderdewa and Hollongi to take stock of their functioning.
The ministers were accompanied by the DCs Talo Potom and Pige Ligu, SPs Jimmy Chiram and Neelam Nega and DMO Dr Mandip Perme. Both the ministers urged the frontline workers, especially those posted at the check gates to work together as a team to contain further spread of the virus. While holding an interaction with the officers and officials posted at the Covid hospitals and check gates, the Ministers asked them to put forward their grievances, if any to which a few issues like shortage of manpower, unavailability of toilets etc. were discussed. Both Felix and Libang assured to do the needful from their end.
In-charge, DCH Chimpu informed that 164 more beds would be made functional along with the existing 32 at the earliest taking the total capacity of the DCH to 206, out of which 28 beds would be made functional as ICUs. The Ministers were also apprised of the need for looking over the power supply scenario in the facility. The Home Minister directed the EE( Electrical) for taking immediate action on the same. 
Meanwhile, CCC, Lekhi has also been made functional since Wednesday. DIPRO 

Arunachal’s Covid situation getting critical with one more death, single-day jump of 194 cases

ITANAGAR, Apr 29: The death of a 55-year old male Covid patient in the state capital on Wednesday evening has taken Arunachal’s casualty tally to 59. The situation has become critical with the addition of 194 new cases on Thursday, taking the state’s active Covid tally to 1112.
The said patient was admitted with Covid pneumonia at DCH Chimpu on April 22 last and as per medical report, expired due to acute respiratory distress syndrome at the DCH. Meanwhile, Lower Dibang Valley and ICR remained the biggest contributors with 68 and 54 respectively, followed by Papum Pare 18. Among the new cases, 151 are asymptomatic and 43 symptomatic. The only ray of hope is the increase in number of recoveries which jumped to 47 from Wednesday’s 17. With this the total discharge/recovery count of the state is now 17085. 3524 samples were collected on the day with bulk collections from the troubled districts such as ICR,  Papum Pare and LDV among others.
As of Thursday, occupancy status at the Covid facilities was : DCH Chimpu 22, DCHC Midpu 6, DCH Pasighat 3, DCHC 29 and SQF Lekhi 7.
