established century ago, in 1912 by British government had setup a
small medical unit on the bank of river Siang but over the years
become an ultra modern hospital in the state due to untiring efforts
of doctors, paramedical staff and support of the government, stated
the East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak Wednesday while
chairing the 10th Governing Body meeting in the hospital’s conference
hall.

including doctors and HoOs.

“Our mission is to ensure the best and affordable healthcare to the
people for which we must have good planning and strategies that can
help the hospital authorities to provide better and advanced treatment
facilities,” told the DC in his deliberation.
GB meeting is an integral part of the HMS and efforts have to be made
to assess, review, evaluate and suggestions and recommendations in the
implementation process for better health care services.
Saying transparency is essential, Chairperson Tatak suggested for
regular conduction of review meeting to identify shortcomings and
problems and to make future plans. “The onus of keeping the Hospital
clean should be shouldered by every individual so that we offer a
clean and hygienic service to the patients”, emphasized the DC.
Taking privilege he also emphasized for infusing work culture amongst
the facilitators so that quality service could be realized.
Considering health department as one of the most important departments
that deal with human lives, the DC instructed the medical officers and
paramedical staff to be punctual in their duty for providing effective
services to the patients.

The DC reviewed and patiently heard shortcomings and grievances,
presented by the doctors during the five hours long discussions and
assured that all efforts would be made to ensure best possible medical
facilities to people.
Issues like introduction of generic medicines, setting-up police beat
office, drainage system in and around the hospital, beautification and
parking place, 24x7 running water and power supply would be given
priority, leaving no stone unturned. He stressed on biomedical waste
management and asked the urban local body to keep the hospital and
nearby areas clean.
Hospital authority informed the DC that government had provided one
Incinerator few years back  but system was lying defunct soon after
installation and the concerned supplier never responded. Tatak
suggested the management committee to bring the matter to the notice
of the state’s Health Minister and Chief Minister. He also took
serious note of failure of the existing Chief Minister Health
Insurance Scheme.
