ITANAGAR, Jun 9: Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein on Friday inspected the under-construction auditorium hall and landscaping to see the pace of progress in the Arunachal State Assembly Building at Itanagar today.

While inspecting the construction work, Mein asked the Chief Engineer, PWD to expedite the works by doubling their efforts and to work in three shifts, day and night so as complete the unfinished work within first week of July. He, however, asked them to ensure that standard materials are used in the construction and to make no compromise in the quality of works.

Speaker Tenzing Norbu Thongdok urged the engineers concerned to complete the landscaping and main gate works at the earliest to give the compound an aesthetic view. 

He requested PWD to carry out maintenance of the approach road to the Assembly Building,  foot path in both sides of the road with railing  and also to renovate the damaged iron culvert at the junction near NH-415 at the earliest. 

Chief Engineer PWD assured that the civil work of the Auditorium Hall will be completed by 26thof this month and the department is making day and night together to complete the remaining work within the given time frame. He also assured to take up the maintenance of the approach road from NH-415 to the Assembly building.

The dignitaries thoroughly inspected various chambers of the Assembly building. The under-construction auditorium building has the sitting capacity of 500 persons and the building would be used as a multi-purpose hall. 

Among others Deputy Speaker Tumke Bagra, Parliamentary Secretary PWD Techi Kaso, Commissioner PWD Bilatee Pertin, Secretary Legislative Assembly, M. Lasa , Additional Secretary Legislative Assembly K. Habung and Chief Engineer, K Wahge accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister.
