TEZU, Jun 23:The Tezu police has arrested one on charges of drug peddling and also seized approximately 50 grams of suspected Brown Sugar.

Based on information, police team managed to nab the person who was on the run at Hatiduba village under police station Sunpura after a chase.

The arrestee has been identified as Chopo Mega, 37, of Koronu, PO/PS – Roing, Lower Dibang Valley District. During body search, 11 plastic pouches containing pink coloured powdery substances suspected to be contraband Brown Sugar and an electronic weighing machine was recovered from his possession. The substance along with the car used by the accused has been seized on the spot in presence of Magistrate, Sunpura and the accused taken into custody. 

In this regard, a case vide Sunpura PS Case No.07/17 U/S 21(b) NDPS Act has been registered and investigation is underway.
