ITANAGAR, Aug 24: A team from district administration Capital Complex led by CO Dr. Heera Panggeng and AMDO Tapong Ekke along with the police today carried out checking drive of illegal mining activities and to ensure that no unauthorized extraction of minor minerals is being carried out in the Capital Complex.
In the course of the drive, the team seized many vehicles involved in the illegal mining activities from Jullang river bed near Central Jail area.
The Deputy Commissioner had earlier banned all kinds of illegal mining activities within the Capital Complex. He has further directed the Administrative Officers of the Capital Complex to carry out regular checking drives to enforce the order and seize all kinds of machines and equipment used for illegal mining exercise
