PASIGHAT, Feb 6: Devi Dada from Arunachal Pradesh made history by securing the bronze medal in the highly competitive K1 Extreme Kayak Slalom event at the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand. This groundbreaking event was introduced for the first time in the National Games and took place at the scenic Shivpuri Rishikesh.
Dada, hailing from East Kameng District in Arunachal Pradesh, showcased exceptional skill and determination, earning a well-deserved spot on the podium in a sport that has rapidly gained popularity across the nation.
The achievement marks a significant milestone in the history of Indian water sports, particularly for Arunachal Pradesh, which continues to produce talented athletes in various disciplines. The K1 Extreme Kayak Slalom event, a thrilling race that involves navigating a series of gates in fast-moving water, was a test of precision and bravery, with Dada's performance standing out among fierce competitors.
Nino Dai, President of the All Arunachal Pradesh Water Sports Association (APWSA), and Atu Kartek, Secretary of APWSA, were present at the event to cheer for Dada and extend their heartfelt congratulations.
