YUPIA, May 17: Deputy Commissioner Papum Pare, Pige Ligu today chaired a meeting of all concerned officers and PRI leaders to review the status of COVID-19 situation and future management in the district.
While speaking on the present situation of the pandemic , the Deputy Commissioner called upon the medical team to intensify the vaccination drive in the district and asked the District Medical Officer and his team to work out modalities to facilitate vaccination facility to the people residing in remote circles and villages who have not yet availed the COVID-19 vaccine. He also appealed the newly elected PRI members to support the district administration in fighting against the second wave of COVID-19 and to play proactive role in dissemination of information on COVID-19 vaccination drive and to follow SOPs issued by the government at grass root level.
SP Papum Pare, Dr. Neelam Nega also briefly highlighted the security arrangements and emphasised on the need for more awareness among the public on SOPs of COVID-19. ZPC Chukhu Bablu and ZPM Doimukh Techi Rakap also shared their views and urged upon the need for maintaining proper coordination between administration and PRI leaders in fighting against the pandemic situation in Doimukh area.DMO Dr.K.Perme also briefed the house about the status of vaccination drive in the district. Earlier, Disease Surveillance Officer, Yupia Dr. R. Ronya gave PPT on status of overall COVID-19 activities in the district. During the discussions, issues pertaining to vaccination drive and all logistic supports required for COVID related activities were reviewed and discussed.
Meanwhile, reviewing the situation in Doimukh Sub-Division regarding additional Containment Measures imposed, it was observed huge gathering at Doimukh township today wherein essential items shops were permitted to open in the sectors from 6am to 12noon alternatively, the Deputy Commissioner viewed the situation seriously, which is totally against SOPs of COVID-19 pandemic issued by the government and thereby, considering the safety and security of the public all shops in the Doimukh Sub-Division were ordered to closed down all with effect from Tuesday, 18th May till further orders.
To ease the problem of public, a Committee has been constituted for home delivery system in Doimukh area under the chairmanship of SDO. They were directed to identify dealers and shops for home delivery in colonies and sector wise during the lockdown period. DIPRO
