YUPIA, Aug 28:  Dr. Joram Beda, Deputy Commissioner today held district-level consultative committee and district-level review meetings.
            Speaking to the bankers and concerned heads of departments, Beda stressed upon giving more impetus on conducting financial literacy camps (FLCs)  in remote areas for banking facilities and to create awareness among the people on benefits of government schemes. 
                 Reviewing the development of bank operations in the district, the DC enquired about the details of Consumer Service Providers Centres (CSPs) opened in the district and its performance and directed all bankers to come up with details of CSPs and transactions done in the district in next meet. 
            The Deputy Commissioner also suggested that the banks take up welfare activities under Corporate Social Responsibility schemes and  NABARD to provide Solar Powered VSAT connectivity in remote areas to facilitate internet facility. He further called upon all concerned departments and financial institutions to work for overall development of the district with more dedication and sincerity.  
                 Taking serious note of issues raised by the Doimukh Market Welfare Committee on SBI branch, Doimukh, the Deputy Commissioner termed the grievances as very genuine and directed the SBI bank management to come up with an immediate and long-term solution to the problem. 
                 Discussing the issues regarding the opening of new accounts for students and MNREGA in remote corners of the district, Beda asked the representatives of rural banks to organize special financial literacy camps in remote areas like Mengio and Tarasso Circles to facilitate the banking service in their own area.             
Responding to the problem raised regarding the SBI branch, Doimukh, Regional Manager, SBI, Itanagar   assured that SBI will try to find a solution soon to mitigate the problems of Doimukh
