YUPIA, Jun 1: Deputy Commissioner Papum Pare Pige Ligu expressed dissatisfaction over gradual progress of vaccination drive in the district and called for serious introspection on strategy to improve the vaccination performance at par with other districts. He exhorted all stakeholders to work in team spirit to achieve the target. He was said this at a review meeting on the present status of COVID-19 related activities in the entire district.
The DC also called upon the medical team to intensify the vaccination drive in the district and asked the DMO and his team to prepare to reach out to people of 45 years and above in no network interior pockets of Mengio and Silsango circle to facilitate vaccination facility who have not yet availed the COVID-19 vaccine.
He further directed the concerned administrative officers to immediately conduct meetings with all stakeholders including PRI members and Church leaders to speed up activities to fight against COVID -19 and to augment the IEC activities to create awareness among people on Coronavirus and vaccination drive at grass roots level. He also advised the administrative officers and PRI members to give due regards and respect to all Health workers who are working relentlessly in fighting against COVID-19.
He also appealed the newly elected PRI members to support respective local administration in fighting against the second wave of COVID-19 in the district and to play proactive role in motivating the public for COVID-19 vaccination and to follow SOPs to break the chain of second wave of COVID-19 in the district.
SP Papum Pare Dr. Neelam Nega also briefly highlighted the security arrangements and emphasised on need for more awareness among the public on SOPs of COVID-19 and said that vaccination is the only solution to prevent further lockdown situations and requested all eligible people to come forward for vaccination.
ADC Balijan Tasso Gambo and ADC Sagalee Toko Odil also briefly highlighted their preparations and their effort in persuading people to get themselves vaccination.
The District Medical Officer Dr. K. Perme presented overview of the COVID-19 situation in Papum Pare District through PPT and informed that as per directions of GoAP, on the spot registration for 18-44 years have been started. He also appealed all eligible groups to come forward and get themselves vaccinated in their nearest Vaccination centres and not to believe in rumours and misconceptions about the vaccine.
ZPM Banderdewa Biri Taming who also spoke on the occasion while expressing solidarity with the district administration in combating COVID-19, requested the Deputy Commissioner to provide proper guidance and directions to PRI leaders so that they can extend helping hand to the administration during the pandemic.
District Food and Civil Supplies Officer Honi Bayang who also spoke on the occasion informed about availability of essential items and said that free rice distribution under PMGKY for May and June months have been distributed to the beneficiaries. He also requested the DMO Yupia to make provisions to vaccinate the Fair Price Shops owners and staff and LPG Agencies staff as they also fall under vulnerable groups.
During the meeting issues pertaining to vaccination drive, Containment zones, sanitization, Power and water supply, road connectivity, availability of essential items, Home Delivery System in Doimukh areas were reviewed and discussed at length. DIPRO
