Yupia, Jun 23: Deputy Commissioner-Cum- Chairman DFTI Pige Ligu expressed dissatisfaction over marginal progress in COVID-19 vaccination process in Papumpare district and asked all stakeholders to work harder to achieve the target.
He was addressing a co-ordination meeting of District Task Force for Immunization (DFTI) held at Deputy Commissioner’s office Yupia today to review the performance of COVID-19 vaccination drive and status of pandemic in Papum Pare district.
He further asked health authorities to organise mass awareness campaign through various IEC activities to disseminate correct information in far flung villages in coordination with concern administrative officers, as most of the people are reluctant to get themselves vaccinated due to widespread myths and misinformation on COVID-19 vaccination.
He also asked all outpost Admin officers and Medical officers to cooperate with each other and to intensify the village to village survey to identify eligible beneficiaries under 18 + and encourage to them to get themselves vaccinated.
The district Medical Officer Dr. K. Perme highlighted overview of vaccination status in the district and informed that Papum Pare district is among average performing districts in terms of inoculations of 18+ groups and said "We need to pull up our socks to pick up speed to achieve the target set by the government, that is upto September 2021."
DRCHO Dr. Neyang Nitik and Epidemiologist Eli Angu gave presentations on COVID-19 vaccination status in Papum Pare District and status of COVID-19 pandemic in the district respectively.
