ITANAGAR, Apr 17:  Covid scenario of Arunachal Pradesh showed hardly any improvement on Saturday as 19 more cases were detected over the last 24 hours taking the state’s active caseload to 105.
According to the daily COVID-19 bulletin released this evening, of the 19 new cases detected, 8 are in the ICR, 2 each in Lower Dibang Valley, West Kameng and Namsai and 1 each from Papum Pare, Lohit, Upper Siang, Lower Subansiri and East Siang.  After recovery and discharge of 6 patients, the state’s recovery/discharge total  has reached 16806.  A total of 659 samples were collected on the day with 219 from the ICR, 129 from West Kameng, 86 from Namsai, 58 from LDV, 64 from East Siang, 40 from Lohit  and 14 from Tawang the major collections.
Meanwhile, the Department of H&FW issued a new notification this evening incorporating a fresh set of Covid protocols and charges for conducting tests.
According to it, RAT has been made mandatory at the Point of Entry/Helipad and Airport  for all those entering the state except for those already possessing negative RT-PCR/TruNat/CBNAAT reports issued by the state/UT from where they are arriving. However, such reports will be valid only if the returnees were tested within 72 hours prior to the arrival.   For those found Covid positive through RAT at the Points of Entry or possessing a positive report and asymptomatic  will have the option to go for home isolation or might be subsequently shifted to the paid CCCs if the home isolation option is not feasible. For positive and mild symptomatic cases, along with the option of home isolation, patients determined as severe will be shifted to the paid CCCs or DCHCs and DHCs. Treatment at the latter two will be free of cost.
No restrictions have been applied for intra-state/inter-district travellers, goods and services vehicles and there will also be no restriction on the movement of essential goods at the Points of Entry to the state.  The CPMF/Military will have to follow their own Covid protocols and no additional protocols have been issued on the state’s behalf.
The charges for RAT have been fixed as Rs 200 per test and Rs 500 for RT-PCR/TruNat. However, those possessing BPL cards, truckers and their attendants carrying essential goods, individuals above 60 years, children below 10 years, state govt contingency staff and CPMF/Military will be exempted from the above charges.
