AALO, Apr 13: In the wake of the prevailing second wave of Covid-19 in the state, West Siang Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi on Monday conducted an elaborate meeting with the NGOs, Head of Offices and citizens to finalize the district’s combat strategies.
Noting that the 2nd wave is more threatening than the first, DC emphasized on taking pre-emptive precautions right now although the district hasn’t seen any positive cases so far. The returnees from other states have to be tested, he said and appealed to the civil society to help the District Administration, police and medical department in a manner seen in 2020. “ILP issuance will be strict, CCCs will be kept in readiness, no public gathering and social function will be allowed without permission and social distancing, wearing of face masks will be made compulsory and the District Task Force will be reconstituted to spread awareness among people,” he informed.
DMO Dr Moli Riba and DSO Dr Jombom Kato while stressing on testing, tracking and treatment, urged all to send doubtful people directly to the hospitals for tests and strict home quarantine for anyone testing positive. DDMO Dorjee Nima informed about last year’s pending bills spent in fighting the pandemic and the mounting pressure from suppliers for release of their dues. Ex-Minister Doi Ado donated Rs 50,000 to gear up the initial activities.
Senior citizens, retired government officials, representatives from the ATPWDS, Mother’s Vision, APAWS, PAYWA and other NGOs shared useful suggestions in the meeting. DIPRO
