ITANAGAR, Dec 27: A conglomeration of organizations under the banner of Arunachal Peace Committee (APC) while denouncing the proposed 12-hour capital bandh called by Abotani Clan Organization (ATCO) on December 29 next has termed it as illegal alleging that the bandh is more of a political stir rather a common public issue.

In a press conference held this afternoon at press club, spokesperson Hillang Tadh while clarifying that they are not against their demand for a separate DATCA however maintained that ‘calling a bandh is not the right way to press their demands as such bandh will only disrupt normal life.’

He called upon all stakeholders, unions, student organizations, CBOs, NGOs and other pressure groups not to get fooled by the tantrums created by any political party which is using various organisations for their personal benefit.

Tadh also condemned ATCO for raising the baseless ‘dog remark’ issue, which he clarified, was not said by the CM with intent to harm anyone or target any community as a whole.

‘It was a just discussion which is a part of legislative assembly procedure,’ he opined.

Alleging that few are raising the issues with a  political motive to topple the present government, Tadh appealed all stakeholders not to endorse or support such bandh calls which has no purpose.

‘Let the issue which  was raised in Legislative Assembly be resolved by the lawmakers in that platform,’ he said.

Convener, Giogi Talar while criticizing ATCO alleged that such illegal move in the name of any clan or community with an unscrupulous motive to gain cheap popularity should be condemned by all section of society.

Talar, who is among the founder member of Mere Vichar Andolan committee and present, Arunachal Youth Organization, President has also  alleged that he had to quit his membership from the committee as its (MVAC)  associates  got sidetracked from the real motive and started politicizing the late Kalikho Pul issue.

Strongly rejecting his rumoured impeachment from the post of present president of AYO by other executives members, Talar claimed that when he came to know that his associates  started collecting  illegal donation and  politicizing the issue then he terminated all of them in the capacity of president for misusing the organization name for their own interest.

Requesting the ATCO executives members to refrain from such illegal activities, Talar said that in a democracy, everyone   has a right to express reservations through democratic ways but sponsoring a bandh will serve no purpose except create tension or economic loss for state.
