ITANAGAR, Aug 16:
Chief Minister Pema Khandu has expressed his deepest condolence on the sad demise of former Prime Minister of India, Atal Behari Vajpayee.
In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said, “I am extremely saddened by the sad demise of a fatherly figure of our country - former Prime Minister of India,Atal Behari Vajpayee Ji. In his passing away we all are at an immense loss.
Atal Ji was an iconic and charismatic figure who was loved by all. He was a true statesman who often rose above political differences for the cause of humanity, justice and peace. He was a true inspiration!”
Arunachal Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has condoled the demise of former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee after a prolonged illness on Thursday.
Terming his passing away as a monumental loss not only for the party but for the entire country and its democratic institution, State BJP General Secretary, Jarpum Gamlin informed *”A condolence meeting shall be held at the State BJP headquarters at 10.30 AM on Friday. Similarly all district and mandal units shall pay floral tribute to the departed soul across Arunachal Pradesh at the same time.” All the BJP legislators, Ministers and former Ministers and legislators are expected to be present at the state BJP headquarters to pay their last respects to the former Prime Minister, he added.
“It was Atalji’s revolutionary effort through the Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) that brought connectivity especially to the rural areas of the much neglected North Eastern states. Also, it was his vision that led to the creation of Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) which gave an impetus to the overall growth and development of the region,” said Gamlin while recalling Atalji’s special contribution to the growth and development of the North Eastern region.
Today India has lost great thinker, philosopher, poet , reformer and leader, the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee said while condoling the death of the former Prime Minister.
The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) President, Hawa Bagang expressed grief over the news and stated that Atal Ji was one of the outstanding statesmen of the country.
