DADAM, Jun 29: 3 RCC bridges that would now make the already completed 12.5 km Dadam-Moktowa road in Tirap district suitable for vehicular traffic was inaugurated today by 56-Khonsa West MLA Chakat Aboh in presence of Deputy Commissioner Taro Mize, PWD engineers and officials.
Making the inauguration, the MLA said that with the construction of these bridges over Tehien river between Dadam and Moktuwa villages, the dream of her late husband Tirong Aboh has now been fulfilled, recalling that the PWD road, electrification and water supply at Moktuwa were initiated by him while serving as a Minister. Congratulating the Moktuwa villagers for the infra development, the DC appreciated the MLA and recalled the contributions of her late husband. Former Minister Late Tirong Aboh has done tremendous work during his brief political career of 5 years, he said while appreciating the PWD for a timely completion.
Construction of the said bridges (25 mtr span at 4.400 km, 10 mtr span at 7.00 km and 10.00 mtr span at 7.300 km) with a budget outlay of Rs 5 cr started on February 10, 2018 and was completed within schedule on March 24, 2021, Executive Engineer (PWD) Er. Wangpong Rongrang informed while thanking the subordinate engineers for working tirelessly to reach the deadline. With the inauguration of these bridges, people of Moktuwa will enjoy a smooth travelling experience to district headquarters Khonsa covering a distance of 31 kms, which earlier used to be 61 kms via Tissa.
