ITANAGAR, Jun 16:In a first, a quick response vehicle (QRV) under the aegis of District Disaster Management Authority, Capital Complex was flagged off by the Chief Secretary on Friday at the office premises of Deputy Commissioner Capital Complex. Principal Secretary (Home), DC Capital, SDRF personnel, and members of DDMA were also present at the launch.

The QRV will respond to any disaster related eventualities immediately. Basic equipment which are needed to deal with emergency cases are placed in the vehicle which will be stationed at SDRF camp Chimpu under the supervision of Commandant SDRF. The QRV will also keep close vigilance over all vulnerable areas within the Capital Complex. As and when the call is received in the toll free number 1077 of Emergency Operation Centre, Quick Response Team with Rapid Response Team of Medical Department will be activated and move to incident site for response.

After going through the equipment placed in the QRV, the Chief Secretary appreciated the initiative of Deputy Commissioner in taking extra effort to combat disaster especially during this Monsoon. She also suggested for at least two more numbers of QRV in order to cover entire Capital Complex.
