PASIGHAT, May 7: The Border Roads Organization (BRO) celebrated its 61st Raising Day today here at the Hq premises of Project Brahmank with the resolution to overcome all future challenges.
To mark the occasion, a medical camp headed by Chief Engineer (CE) Padam Kumar was organized for general medical check-up of families of staff and labourers of the Brahmank team and for spreading Covid awareness. A Sainik Sammelan was also held wherein the CE complimented the Brahmank staff for their excellent work performance last year and motivated them to carry forward the tempo in the current year. The CE gave away certificates of merit to the meritorious individuals of the project and all Casual Paid Labourers (CPLs) numbering around 200 were given radios, water filters and mosquito nets in coordination with President, All Arunachal Pradesh Workers’ Union (AAPWU) East Siang unit Mipet Tayeng.
The BRO which was formed on May 7, 1960 is actively engaged in developing infrastructure in remote areas of the north and northeast states of India. It has reached the milestone of constructing over 60000 km roads, 693 km bridges, 19 operational airfields and the Atal tunnel measuring 8.8 km which is above 10000 feet and longest in the world at this altitude.
