ITANAGAR, Jul 27: Reacting to media reports on the serious allegation and Public Interest Litigation(PIL) of disproportionate assets against state BJP president Tapir Gao by Arunachal Justice Forum, the state Bharatiya Janata Party termed the allegations as politically motivated to malign the image of the BJP and its State President by detractors whoever he or she is and whichever party he or she belongs to.
Addressing reporters at State BJP Headquarters here today, party General Secretary Jarpum Gamlin said “We are not surprised with the various allegations on party leaders or the party by any individual or group. As the Assembly election 2019 is getting closer such allegations are expected and we are expecting more.”
Allegations on the party and its leaders are going on since last three-four months and such act is just a divisive idea with a malicious intention to divide the strong bonding between the Government and party as both are going in right direction for the development of the state, Gamlin asserted.
‘Bonding between CM Pema Khandu and State BJP president Tapir Gao is very strong therefore to weaken the party detractors are trying to create confusion,’ the party’s Gen Secy added.
The BJP State Unit also disclosed that counter legal action has already been initiated in the matter.
Claiming that Gao has not a single portion of land which is illegally obtained, Gamlin informed that Gao's legal representative has already served Arunachal Justice Forum a legal notice on June 29 and slammed it with a defamation suit of Rs 10 crore.
Clarifying on the allegations regarding the structure built at C-Sector in Naharlagun, he said the structure is a commercial building and the ongoing construction is a joint venture with a long term lease signed with the business partner who has made his own investment to construct the building.
‘This is an accepted business model the world over,’ he said.
Also stating that the forum's claim of the court accepting their PIL as "not factually correct", Gamlin claimed that the PIL was listed for acceptance hearing on Thursday but the litigators had recalled their PIL citing "some defects" and has sought some more time.
Meanwhile, responding to the media over clarification from the party while the forum has made personal allegations against Gao, Gamlin said that Gao being their head in the state they have every reason to counter the allegations on his behalf. He, however, added that Gao who is currently out of town will also put forward his clarification in a day or two.
