ITANAGAR/ROWMARI, Jul 2: The last rites of journalist Mintu Tamuli were performed on the wee hours of Friday in his native village New Rowmari, Bihali in Assam.
The 32-year-old journalist was an Assistant Information Publicity Secretary of the Arunachal Press Club (APC) and Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalist (APUWJ) and was associated with a number of electronic media organizations including News18, Prime Time, Pratidin, CDCN, Times Now and Arunbhoomi. It was in the month of February this year Mintu lost his mother. He leaves behind his father Jotin Tamuli and a sister. 
A team from the state media fraternity under the banner of APC, APUWJ and Arunachal Electronic & Digital Media Association (AEDMA) visited New Rowmari village to pay their last homage and express condolence to the family members.
Extending profound condolences to the grieving family members, APC President Dodum Yangfo said that late Mintu was one of the budding journalists of the state who in a very short span of his journey achieved many accolades in the field of journalism. His loss at such a young age is not only an irreparable loss for the family members but also for the entire media fraternity of the state, he said. “Though he was originally a native of Assam, he was born and brought up in Arunachal. So his love for this land and contributions to the profession is immense. He will always be remembered,” Yangfo added.

“He was one of the resourceful persons with a positive attitude who took any responsibility assigned to him during any event organized by the media fraternity,” APUWJ President Amar Sangno said while recalling Mintu contributions. Sangno also informed the deceased journalist’s family that Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy CM Chowna Mein have personally conveyed their condolence messages. Besides the CM and DCM, many other renowned personalities across the state have expressed their condolences on the sudden demise of the budding journalist. Media bodies of the state have assured to extend all-possible assistance to the grieving family members.
Among others, President AEDMA Migom Toko, Adviser, AEDMA Mukul Pathak and CEO, Arun Bhumi Takam Sonia also shared their condolences.

CM Khandu mourns death of young journalist

ITANAGAR: Chief Minister Pema Khandu has deeply condoled the untimely demise of  young journalist Mintu Tamuli, who expired here on Thursday evening due to cardiac arrest.
In his condolence letter to late Mintu’s father, Khandu said “I am shocked and deeply saddened by the news of the untimely demise of Mintu Tamuli, a young and promising journalist of the state who died due to cardiac arrest.
I am told, he had lost his mother early this year and I can very well feel the pain the bereaved family members might be going through now.
I know this would be the most trying times for the family members to cope with the irreparable loss. I hope my humble words of consolation would ease the grief even if a little. Me, my family, colleagues in the Government and people of Arunachal Pradesh extend our solidarity with the grieving family and share the pain inflicted by one of the greatest truths of life, the CM said his condolence letter.
