Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
NAMSAI, Mar 10: The Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) today observed the World No Smoking Day which was participated by its faculty and students along with the higher secondary school students of the district headquarters.
Organized by the Faculty of Medical Sciences, AUS, the theme of the celebration was ‘Health effects of cigarette smoking and second-hand smoking’. Vice-chancellor Professor (Dr.) B. Mohan Kumar stressed on the importance of spreading the message of “a sound mind in a sound body” and highlighted the dangers of first-hand and second-hand smoking and the need to quit smoking.
Master trainer from the Heartfulness Foundation Subrahmanya Kumar Sripada shared his knowledge on the scientific concept behind meditation and how it can improve the body, mind and soul. Techniques of meditation were demonstrated to the participants by another master trainer Om Prakash Kejriwal.
The session was followed by a theme-based poster competition in which around 40 students from various schools and colleges in and around Namsai participated.
