ITANAGAR, Aug 29:Achom Degio representing the State Junior Girls Football Team which took part in the recently held Junior Girls National Football Championship in Goa has been shortlisted among 35 probable players to represent the Indian National Team in the upcoming SAFF U-18 Women's Football Championship to be held in Bhutan from September 27 next.

“This is indeed a very happy as well as proud moment for us,” said Kipa Ajay, Secretary, Arunachal Pradesh Football Association. Her achievement will surely inspire many young girls to take up football and to reach where she is now. Hard work put into by Coaches, Association, Team Officials and Achom herself has finally paid off, he added.

Achom currently plays for Capital Complex Football Club where she also started her club football. A very proud Club Chairman of CCFC, Kipa Takum said, “It always brings enormous joy to see our players achieving such feats. We believe in bringing the best out of each player in the club. I also congratulate our Head Coach Kipa Bharat, who has been working hard to nurture these talents and been the major force behind their success.”
