ITANAGAR, Dec 18: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women-cum-Protection of Child Rights (APSCW-cum-APSCPCR), Itanagar has sought the support of the general public to unite a minor with his parents after its efforts proved unfruitful.

The boy Nimulya Kaling, 10, was brought to the state following information by District Child Protection Unit (Depu), Dibrugarh, Assam that the boy was in their custody since February 6 this year.

On preliminary enquiry by the Commission, the child informed about his parents — Adya Kaling and Santisubha Kaling natives of Salemar Gaon located nearby Kharsang, Changlang District. However, the Superintendent of Police, Changlang informed that no such place exists in Kharsang circle.

Further, on being informed that the said village is under Sonitpur District, Assam, the Commission also wrote to the Chairperson, Assam State Commission Protection for Child Rights, Guwahati to trace out the parents but is yet to receive any information.

Meanwhile, the Commission has requested Oju Welfare Association (OWA), Naharlagun to provide temporary shelter for the child till his legal guardian has been traced out.
