ITANAGAR, Jun 18: A team from the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) led by its Chairperson Radhilu Chai Techi today visited Deepak Nabam Living Home in the capital and distributed essential food items and donated some amount for medical treatment and urgent needs of the inmates. While interacting with the Home’s owner Deepak Nabam, the APSCW team learnt that currently there are 205 inmates including male and female and a separate building is being constructed exclusively for women inmates. A 100-bedded building will also be constructed in Doimukh soon, Nabam informed. The Commission has requested the concerned authorities in the state to implement the housing schemes for widows/single/separated and destitute women and provide necessary support to such social activities as per GoI guidelines.
The APSCW has further requested the state government to provide necessary infrastructural support to the state’s NGOs working on ground such as Deepak Nabam Living Home and Mother’s Home which need urgent attention.
