ITANAGAR, Jun 30: A team from the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) today made an official visit to the Child Care Institute run by Mother Teresa Home, a wing of the Missionaries of Charity.
The team was headed by APSCPCR Chairperson Gumri Ringu, Member Secretary K Lomi and member Y.Tekseng. The objective of the visit was to ascertain if there are any COVID-19 infected orphan children at the home and observance of the JJ Act. The team also took stock of various other activities carried out for the inmates. “During the visit we observed that all the general health and hygiene protocols were followed thoroughly by the inmates as well as staff. The inmates are also imparted yoga as a part of their daily routine to overcome the stress and trauma they had undergone. Apart from all these activities, they are also imparted informal education for further enrollment in a regular school,” the commission stated.
In the coming days APSCPCR will also visit the other CCIs to assess Covid safety measures and review their routine activities.
