ITANAGAR, Sep 16: The aggrieved candidates of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive (Main) Examination-2020 (APPSCCE-2020)  has sought the intervention of the Chief Minister regarding the recent result notification.
In its representation, the aggrieved candidates claimed that the commission has failed to maintain a requisite ratio  of 1:3  for personality test. The commission  had notified that 141 candidates have qualified for Viva Voce whereas there are total of 111 vacancies of posts. As per the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination (APPSCCE) Rules 2019, it has been mentioned that "the number of candidates to be called for interview will be in the ratio of 1:3 as prescribed under the OM No.54/2006 dated 7th January, 2008". Accordingly, as the number of vacancies is 111, the number of candidates which should have been called for Personality Test must be 333, i.e in 1:3 ratio, it reasoned.
APPSC has implemented the examination pattern of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) of Civil Services examination for the ongoing APPSCCE 2020, it is coherent to adhere to the UPSC rules for qualifying criteria as , stated the candidates. The aggrieved candidates further said that misinterpretations are putting the lives & hard work of thousands of candidates at stake adding that many candidates have reached the age limit and this is their last chance to take the state civil service examination.
Further candidates have appealed the government to use its discretionary power and select the candidates in 1:3 ratio i.e 333 candidates for 111 posts and release an addendum of 192 candidates based on merit at the earliest. As stated earlier, not complying with 1:3 ratio, will deprive the 192 candidates of a fair chance to attend the personality test and it shall set a very wrong precedence for the future examinations, the representation read.
