KHONSA,  Sep 6:  The ancient Lam Sham, the term for Porter Track Clearance covering 16 km from Tirathjo Welcome gate point to Laho village via – Huakan, Dadam, and Chinkoi villages was performed by four villages of Huakan – Dadam – Chinkoi and Laho  wherein Khonsa West MLA Tirong Aboh attended as chief guest, CO 16 Assam Rifles Col. Robin Kumar as guest of honour and SP Tirap J.K. Meena, IPS as special guest.
While appreciating the people of the four villages for their noble work, Tirong Aboh assured financial help to the villages from his side within October. He stated that “we shouldn’t forget our past golden days which were practiced by our ancestors especially community work on a self-help basis and handed over to us for posterity”. Aboh said, however, some rigid laws like taking of too many intoxicating substances, killing and hunting of wildlife including fishing with the help of chemical powder and generator current must be stopped.
 
SP Tirap J.K. Meena, IPS praised the people of four villages under Dadam administrative circle for continuing the ancient culture in terms of porter track clearance locally known as Lam Sham which is also a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
