RAGA, Aug 4:

“Who would have imagined that four years back when Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) was introduced in the state to connect all districts with superior road connectivity, it will turn out to be one of the biggest scam of the decade in the state”, stated Takam Sanjoy, President, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) while addressing a mammoth gathering at Raga on Friday

The APCC president who is on a tour to TAH affected districts like Raga, Yachuli and Ziro including Kamle also endorsed the demand made by TAH Deprived Forum to hand over the case to CBI for impartial probe to unravel the whole truth. During his tour, he addressed various public gatherings, interacted with affected people, heard their problems and discussed various issues confronting the development of the area.

Illustrating the TAH compensation scam as “Midday Robbery”, Sanjoy lamented that it is a very sad state of affairs that TAH from Potin to Pangin and Silapathar to Bame is yet to commence even after lapse of four years.

Sanjoy pointed that the state government immediately needs to start the re-assessment process and disburse compensation to the genuine beneficiaries from Potin to Bopi as soon as possible.

“TAH being the much hyped project to connect all districts should not be delayed like this and due to non execution now people have lost faith in the present government,” underscored Sanjoy adding that those involved  in looting public money must be awarded punishment under strictest sections of law.

“The state Congress won’t sit idle but will hit the streets, sit on dharna and will organize ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’ if situation continue to remain grim like this,” affirmed the APCC Chief.
