PASIGHAT, Aug 2: Taking serious note of the prevailing illegal gambling in the form of housie, tambola, lottery and gift coupon etc under Ruksin Sub-Division, the Addl. Dy. Commissioner, Ruksin has issued a ban order refraining organizations of any type of gambling.
As per order, T. Pada, ADC Ruksin said that, office of the Addl. Dy. Commissioner is of the knowledge that a Housie/Tambola is being proposed/advertised to be organized at Ngorlung village in the name of Solung Festival in connivance with the Gaon Buras of Ngorlung Village. Keeping in view of the proposed gambling, ADC has directed GBs of Ngorlung village and organizers of the gambling to refrain from organizing the gambling under Arunachal Pradesh Gambling (Prohibition) Act 2012 non compliance of which will invite legal action as per provision of the law.
Meanwhile, All Bogong Students’ Union (E), Pasighat who had approached DC East Siang to ban illegal gambling today met ADC T. Pada and expressed satisfaction over the administration’s stern initiative against illegal gambling. Lungkang Ering, President, ABSU (E) has said that they want to make East Siang District a gambling free district of the state as gambling ruins many families as well as students too. Ering was optimistic that district administration and police will deal tough with illegal gamblers.
