BOMDILA, Jun 8:‘There has been a sea change in the development of the nation in the last three years as we believe in accountability and transparency’ said Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju in his opening remarks at the Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sammelan at Bomdila today.

Highlighting the various initiatives and revolutionary steps taken by the Modi government in the Centre, Kiren dealt on Digital India, Jan Dhan Yojana and the reasons which led to Demonetization in November last.

He informed of the 433 police personnel from the eight north-east states inducted in the Delhi Police and also of the record numbers of PMGSY projects sanctioned for the state. ‘But the onus lies on the state government to implement these projects in the right perspective,’ he said.

Acknowledging the role and the usefulness of social media in the era of the Information Technology, Kiren invited constructive criticism but urged the people to refrain from misusing it for personal gain and political vendetta.

Having inspected the internal township road early in the morning, the MoS was all praise for the DC and the AE (PWD) for ensuring good quality CC pavement roads but expressed his dismay over the reported allegations of officers asking for commission in tender and other contractual works. He directed all to refrain from such uncalled for, illegal and unethical practices forthwith.

Local Legislator cum advisor to CM, Japu Deru called for using the modern technology as a tool for effective development and urged the people to work unitedly for the all round development of the state.

MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary for PHED&WS, Kumsi Sidisow called on the officers to implement and reach out to the people at the grassroots level while implementing the various flagship programmes of the central government. He said that the PRI leaders can be made an effective medium for implementation of the said schemes.

Earlier, District unit BJP President, Shambu Siongju highlighting the purpose of the meeting called for working unitedly with the central government in order to strengthen the social and economic fabric of the society.

Among others, Ex-ministers RK Khrimey, Tsering Gyurme and Naresh Glow, DC, SP, ZPC, HoP NEEPCO, HODs and officers attended the Sammelan.
