CHIMPU, Aug 21: Abor FC and Solung United FC stormed into the semi-finals of the ongoing Solung Football Tournament-2018 defeating their respective opponents in the third and last quarterfinals played here at the AAPBn ground on Tuesday.
In the first match of the day, Abor FC thrashed its opponent, Kine Nane FC by 4-3. With both sides locked in a 3-3 goal stalemate after normal duration of play, the high voltage game ended with a splendid goal scored by Ojing Mirang of Abor FC which led the team into the semi-final in the extra time.
In the fourth quarterfinal, Solung United FC dished out excellent football as they defeated Gabang FC 3-1. However, despite dominating the game from the beginning, Solung United FC failed to score in the first half which ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
Meanwhile, Abor FC will lock horns with Solung United FC while Banggo FC will take on Siang United FC in the semi-finals to be played onAugust 23 next at the same venue.
