ITANAGAR, Jun 16:Terming the state government decision to hold an all party meeting on June 19next on the vexed Chakma-Hajong issue, ‘positive gesture and encouraging’ the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has appealed invitees from different political parties to come prepared with best of ideas for hammering out a permanent solution.

However objecting to reports that the state government has slated the meeting of all parties and AAPSU differently, the union said that since it was the one who suggested for an all party meeting, it should be included in the same.

‘The meeting should be inclusive in nature otherwise keeping away AAPSU will defeat the very purpose of holding it,’ said President Hawa Bagang.

Furthermore, the Union has condemned the killing of an innocent civilian T. Ngemu at Changlang District by the Assam Rifles. In the press statement AAPSU stated that Arunachal Pradesh is not a police state, and the army should take utmost care to protect and safeguard civilians. The Union also appealed the concern authorities to compensate the aggrieved family.
