ITANAGAR, Aug 23: To promote the values of cleanliness, and staying healthy and fit, the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has launched its State-wide sanitation and hygiene awareness campaign themed as “Be Clean; Be Healthy” here at Government Higher Secondary School, E sector today.

The campaign was flagged off by Superintendent of Police, Capital M Harshvardhan amidst a mammoth gathering of students, teachers, NESO and AAPSU executive members etc.

Harshvardhan in his address drew the attention of the students towards social goals and need for social understanding to be inculcated.

In his speech, AAPSU, General Secretary Tobom Dai highlighted the objectives of the campaign and called upon the student gathering that it is very necessary to keep oneself clean and healthy especially as students.

He informed that the campaign is one of the programmes of the education & health movement spearheaded by the Union and appealed to the students to maintain cleanliness around school campuses.

AAPSU President Hawa Bagang informed the gathering that the Union would apprise the government to solve the water scarcity problem of the school and advised the school committee to initiate social service for the students in the school campus.

The programme concluded with handing over of water filters, dustbins and other sanitation articles for the school by the AAPSU team, which was received by the School Vice Principal.
