AALO, Jun 8: In a devastating fire that occurred at Gumin Yijo Police Training Centre at around 11.30 pm, six dwelling houses were gutted affecting total eight on June 7 last.

The Fire Station Aalo did a commendable job by pressing two fire tenders which contained the fire from spreading into the thickly populated area, despite narrow entry places. The Fire fighters were up to their task to extinguish the fire amid bursting of many LPG cylinders but it was fortunate that the fire could not spread to thenearby oil storage tank of IOC nearby which could have resulted in bigger catastrophe.

MLA Aalo East, Jarkar Gamlin who visited the spot consoled the victims and donated Rs. 80,000 as relief measures.

The District Administration led by Deputy Commissioner Gamli Padu, handed over Rs. 3,800 to each affected family as immediate relief on behalf of the government. West Siang ZPC Yaman Bagra
also donated Rs. 20,000 to the fire victims. The members of Para Legal Volunteers (PLV) also visited the site and assessment report is on to take stock of the actual damages.
