NAMSAI, Aug 13: Ahead of Independence Day, police arrested a woman drug peddler along with her male companion here today.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Sub Inspector CA Namchoom, SI (Lady) P Kimsing along with two constables nabbed the peddlers Janangko Singpho and Kangkang Singpho from the Police Naka near second mile, Namsai informed Officer In-chrage, Namsai police station CB Rai.
“We had received an intelligence report that some unidentified persons are entering Namsai through Bordumsa with contraband substance and accordingly we assigned our officers and constables to nab the peddlers,” disclosed the OC.
Police has seized 22.50 gram of contraband drug from the peddlers and a case under NDPS Act 90/18/ US 21(B) has been registered in Namsai Police station against both the peddlers.
