YUPIA, Feb 24: The first District Level Co-ordination meeting with the newly elected Zilla Parishad Members (ZPMs) and Head of Departments of Papum Pare district was held at ZPC hall, Yupia today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Papum Pare Pige Ligu.
The meeting was also attended by the three sitting legislators of the district.
Presiding over the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner apprised the newly elected ZPMs about the ongoing and upcoming developmental projects in Papum Pare district and assured full support and cooperation from the district administration and requested the members to work towards achieving the target of best performing Zilla Parishad in days to come.
In his address, former Chief Minister and MLA 15- Sagalee, Nabam Tuki congratulated the newly elected Zilla Parishad Members and requested them to work responsively towards the effective implementations of welfare schemes at grassroot level. He also stressed upon giving priority to education and tele communication services in remote areas of the district and requested the Deputy Commissioner to initiate tough action when it comes to matters of education.
Expressing concern over rampant destruction of forest cover by the people, Tuki also requested all Panchayat leaders to strongly take resolutions to protect ecology and wildlife and to prevent wild fires.
MLA 14-Doimukh, Tana Hali Tara emphasised on importance of synergy among HoDs and Panchayat leaders and to work for the greater interest of people at the grassroots. He also requested the DC to mobilise for proper mapping of Balijan and Banderdewa jurisdiction in the greater interest of people living in fringe areas. MLA 13-Itanagar, Techi Kaso also exhorted the Panchayat leaders to pull up their socks to work proactively for the better cause of its people and area.
New Zilla Parishad Chairperson, Chukhu Bablu also urged upon the district administration for giving full support, guidance and cooperation to all newly elected Panchayat leaders so that they can discharge their responsibilities with full faith and confidence. ZPMs from Upper Balijan and Banderdewa also spoke.
Meanwhile, HoDs also briefed the members about their departments. DMO Dr. Komleng Perme also briefly explained the safety of COVID-19 vaccination and not to believe in misinformation and rumours. He also highlighted PMJAY BIS and requested ZPMs to disseminate the information at grassroot level to avail the scheme.
