PASIGHAT, Jun 18: The second phase of zonal wise state level review meeting of department of Women & Child Development was held on Friday. The meeting was attended by the department's high ranking officials including the child development project officers of seven districts-- Lower Siang, Leparada, West Siang, Shi Yomi, Siang, Upper Siang and East Siang Districts.
In the day-long meeting threadbare discussions were carried out on the execution and achievements of various schemes undertaken by the department.   
In his deliberation, Secretary WCD, CN Longphai said the review meeting was held to take stock of the ground situation and to bridge the gap of any kind of shortfall. He said that the activities to be carried out by the department is evolving and is a dynamic one because everyday there is a beneficiary with pregnant mother and a newborn. 
"Continuing with the spirit of AKAM se Antyodaya Tak one of the objectives of the review meeting is to cover the last beneficiary in the seventeen flagship schemes of GoI implemented by various departments which include department of WCD also," he said. Longphai urged the officials to go for wide media campaign and advocacy campaign so that 100% coverage is done in all the schemes of the department. 
In her speech, the Special Secy. Akriti Sagar appreciated the works done by the District and Block level officers. She added that we still have a long way to go because beneficiaries are increasing every day for which we have to work with full enthusiasm. 
Earlier the Director TP Loyi in her keynote address explained about the details of the schemes undertaken by the department of WCD. She informed the house that the GoI has restructured the ICDS, Poshan Abhiyan, Scheme for Adolescent Girls and the National Creche Scheme into Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 to converge nutrition-related initiatives across ministries and strengthen outcomes. She added that it is high time to retrospect and to understand our status and to face the challenges to achieve the target.   
All the Deputy Directors gave presentations of their respective districts and also shared some good practices done in their respective districts. The meeting ended with vote of thanks from Dy. Director of the host district Machi Gao.
